The energy storage principle (ESP) zone valve from Taco, Inc. (Cranston, RI) features a gear-driven, capacitor-powered valves which replaces the traditional spring with a Prostar gold cap capacitor for returning the valve to its normal position. The ac motor has been replaced with a high-torque, high-efficiency miniature motor.
