Through a comprehensive 24-year, $16 million plan that includes an Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) with Johnson Controls, Inc. (Milwaukee), Fort Sam Houston expects to exceed federally mandated goals for 30% energy reductions per sq ft of building space by 2005. Fort Sam Houston is a U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) installation and the home of Army Medicine. Installation of energy efficiency systems will take approximately two years, with the remaining 22 years addressing the continued maintenance of the facility.
