Fluid-cooled equipment in medical facilities and laboratories needs a proper chilled-water system to operate reliably and at peak performance. Generally speaking, there are two cooling sources available for such applications: central building chillers and dedicated-process fluid chillers. Central building chillers cool fluid for a building’s air conditioning system, but they aren’t designed to handle the special cooling requirements of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computerized Tomography (CT), and other medical equipment which requires precise temperature control, 7/24/365 operational reliability and clean, chemical-free solutions. For such specialized cooling needs, equally specialized systems are available to provide a number of economic and operational advantages.
