Testifying at a recent public meeting held by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE),National Electrical Manufacturers Associationgovernment affairs vice president Timothy Feldman told DOE officials that government requirements for energy efficiency should be based on industry consensus standards and that the federal government should promote the use of products based on those standards. He also voiced strong support of energy efficiency and conservation as components of a national energy policy, in addition to increased electrical power generation capability (including distributed generation and renewables) and improvements to transmission and distribution infrastructure.
