Papers presented at the Performance of Exterior Envelopes of Whole Buildings VIII conference are now available from ASHRAE.

The Performance of Exterior Envelopes of Whole Buildings VIII: Integration of Building Envelopes CD contains 103 papers presented at the conference held Dec. 2-7 in Clearwater Beach, FL.

"These papers reflect a wide array of topics related to improving energy efficiency, reducing environmental consequences and increasing the economic benefits of buildings," said conference chairman Richard Karney, of the United States Department of Energy. The conference program followed two tracks.

The principles program focused on research, while the practices program focused on practical applications and case studies. Papers in the principles program address moisture control performance measurements, moisture model inputs, moisture model validation, applied heat and moisture modeling, whole building, reducing foundation heat loss, walls, fenestration principles, attics/roofs and low-slope roofs.

Papers in the practices program cover wall design and building sciences, wall performance, wall durability, fenestration practices, roof design, green buildings, energy in buildings, building durability, building performance, indoor environment and mechanical systems.
