ASHRAE, at its 2005 Winter Meeting, will present a session about the need for building systems that serve more than one function, which was just one of the lessons learned from 9/11. Wade Belcher, U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), Washington, D.C., will discuss building operations at a seminar at the Winter Meeting, February 5-9, 2005, in Orlando. "ASHRAE Guidance on Building Health and Safety under Extraordinary Incidents: Lessons Learned" will be held from 8-10 a.m. February 6. The seminar is part of a newly created track dedicated to HVACR issues related to homeland security. For more information on ASHRAE's work in homeland security, visitwww.ashrae.org/homelandsecurity.
