Environmental Defense (Washington), a leading national advocate of using economic incentives to help solve environmental problems, has relocated its Washington-based staff to a new, showcase office that signals the economic viability of environmentally friendly architecture. The 19,000-square-foot office, located at 1875 Connecticut Ave. in Washington, DC, is a dynamic, open work environment that maximizes the use of recycled materials in particular. “Our efforts to specify recycled material and apply environmentally responsible concepts to this project began with demolition of the existing space,” says Ken Wilson, AIA, IIDA, principal-in-charge with Envision Design.
