Heating, cooling and refrigeration service technicians who become UA S.T.A.R. certified are now awarded 30 college credits for successful completion of the most stringent training and certification process in the industry to date—and they get paid to do it. The United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing, Pipefitting and Sprinklerfitting Industry of the United States and Canada (UA, Washington), known for the best training programs in the piping industry, has set a new industry standard with its S.T.A.R. Certification program, developed jointly by the UA and Ferris State University (Big Rapids, MI). The program offers substantial benefits for service technicians, contractors and their end-users. UA S.T.A.R. is endorsed by the Mechanical Service Contractors of America.
