I remember sitting in at a conference (I won’t mention which one to preserve anonymity), and the speaker was talking about “systems integration.” He stated systems integration was the act of tying multiple controls systems together and declared this was the future of the master system integrator (MSI).
This, my faithful readers, is the state of integrations in the world. When you look at many of the smart buildings out there, they are either paid for at cost with heavy subsidizing by an OEM’s marketing group, are just glorified multi-BAS integrations, or are developed through an owner direct contract. Why is this?
