Emerson Climate Technologies Flow Controls launched its new EX3 electronic expansion valve. The company says the EX3 is a stepper-motor driven electronic expansion valve that provides precise mass flow control and high energy efficiency for supermarket showcases and cold rooms with multiple parallel evaporators.
Distech Controls introduced its ECx-Light-4DALI, a lighting control expansion module part of Distech Controls’ Smart Room Control solution. The Smart Room Control solution consists of a programmable HVAC controller, lighting (ON/OFF, dimming, and now DALI) and shades/sunblind (up/down and angle rotation) expansion modules, a multi-sensor (motion and luminosity), a personal remote control, room sensor, and a free mobile application.
Reliable Controls has released the MACH-Pro1 and MACH-Pro2, fully programmable, BACnet® building controllers (B-BC). The MACH-Pro1 is designed for mid-sized rooftop equipment or small mechanical room applications, while the MACH-Pro2 provides expanded capabilities ideally suited to large, MS/TP rooftop equipment and mid-sized mechanical room applications.
Uponor North America has introduced six new ProPEX® Lead-free (LF) Brass CPVC Adapter Fittings for transitioning from CPVC to PEX in commercial plumbing and hydronic distribution piping systems. The fittings, which are available in 1.25-, 1.5- and 2-in sizes, are offered in a spigot and a socket adapter and all feature Uponor’s ASTM F1960 ProPEX expansion system for connecting to PEX piping.
Reliable Controls has released the MACH-ProPoint Output (MPP-O) expansion module, a flexible solution ideal for applications with large output requirements. Featuring 16 universal outputs, the MPP-O provides maximum output flexibility.
Leaning on experience and data from various K-12 cities and projects, the author pursues some less conventional design approaches. They may revolve around radiant heating and/or cooling, but depending on school size and other factors, the smart use of heat recovery, DOAS, and improved central plants could also put a project on the HVAC honor roll.
