In theory, a BAS provides all of the hardware and software required to analyze and operate all functions within a building. In reality, though, what most of these systems do best is control the HVAC system.
On all projects, the need to provide reliability, accuracy, and safety need to be carefully considered as part of the overall design, but when we start looking at critical environments, these requirements become paramount in the design process.
Retrieving every last bit of performance from the system while stopping short of the surge line is no small feat. Dig into sizing, tower selection, chilled water loads and stability, and condenser water management to leave no efficiency stone unturned. Read more in April issue
