Gurdaver Singh, P.E. C-Eng, LEE

Singh brings over 20 years of experience as principal engineer in mechanical and electrical design. Having worked with a large consultancy in the UK and an award-winning MEP consulting firm with headquarters in San Francisco, his recent experience includes laboratories in both hospital and university/institutional settings for teaching, academic, and clinical research with values over $500 million. A strong proponent of sustainable design, he is familiar with both LEED® and BREEAM (UK) sustainable design criteria. He has presented the Naraghi Hall of Science at CSU Stanislaus, a LEED registered project, at the 2005 Labs for the 21st Century conference and the context of this article at the 2008 Labs for the 21st Century conference.

He is currently designing a 100,000-sq-ft biomedical research laboratory facility including 20,000-sq-ft vivarium and a 20,000-sq-ft stem cell research center at University of California in Santa Cruz, the science and natural resources building for Columbia Community College in California, the new science building at Las Positas Community College in California and the New Hospital Expansion for Northbay Healthcare in California. Singh is a registered mechanical engineer in California, Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) in the UK, and a LEED Accredited Professional. He received a bachelor of science with Honors in Mechanical Engineering from Dundee University in UK and is a member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and California Society of Healthcare Engineers (CSHE).
