This Rhode Island center of higher learning challenged an initial
benchmark and forged a vision of better energy management through an
upgraded campus-wide BAS. A design-bid approach, a five-point
scorecard for grading bids, and a full-time monitor for the new setup
were just three example of how process can drive performance in
educational and commercial settings alike.
UMass Memorial Health Care began planning a demolition/renovation to
fit out 14,000 sq ft of mixed space for a new clinic, the assumption

climate, the administration had to ask: Is there an effective
alternative solution? From assessing the
infrastructure to the effects of rebalancing the entire chilled water
system, see what went into their final conclusion and plan of action.
Retrieving every last bit of performance from the system while stopping short of the surge line is no small feat. Dig into sizing, tower selection, chilled water loads and stability, and condenser water management to leave no efficiency stone unturned. Read more in April issue
