Bosch Thermotechnology is introducing a new sealed combustion high-efficiency stainless steel boiler line with condensing technology. The Buderus SSB Series consists of a total of eight models in four separate chassis sizes with inputs ranging from 85MBH up to 1024MBH, and are applicable for use in small studio units all the way up to commercial buildings. Bosch is introducing the new SSB Series in phases with mid-size range 255,399 and 512 MBH models available initially.
JVL says its new MIS23 QuickStep is a series of versatile, compact, economical integrated stepper motors. Integrated stepper motors in the MIS23 series have NEMA 23 flange dimensions of 57 mm by 57 mm and are available in three models with rated torques of: 1.1 Nm (MIS231), 1.6 Nm (MIS232), 2.5 Nm (MIS234) (1000 RPM @ 48VDC). To reduce cost and protect against electrical noise many of the control and communication functions have been integrated with the motor in a housing designed to provide IP42, IP55 or IP65 protection, and eliminating the need for running control and communication cables. Different PCB’s (modules) can be mounted within the housing to create an automation/motion control system that is easy to incorporate into new and existing applications, according to the company.
Trane launched its ProSpace™ packaged terminal air conditioners (PTAC) for the hospitality industry. The system features humidity control for individual air-quality management, wireless thermostat and remote control capabilities, and an unobtrusive design that can blend in with a room’s décor.
SEMCO® LLC has introduced the NEUTON™, a plug-and-play controlled chilled beam pump module (CCBPM) for reducing chilled beam system installation and operational costs. According to the company, NEUTON is the industry's first proactive condensation control device for active chilled beams. It is a factory-built and pre-tested CCBPM package complete with its own powered integrated DDC, chilled and hot water connections, valves, variable-speed electronically commutated (EC) motor pumps, smart sensors and other features.
A new line of Handte Vortex wet scrubbers from Camfil Air Pollution Control (APC) has been designed to deliver the combined benefits of high-performance wet dust collection with "plug and play" operation. The units are ideal for capture of very sticky dusts and fibers, for processes with high fire loads and flying sparks, and for filtration of highly explosive dusts — particularly for applications where NFPA standards state that dry dust collection systems are not appropriate.
Taco has expanded its SelfSensing pump capabilities with the addition of CI and FI end suction pumps. The company says it is the first pump manufacturer to offer SelfSensing end suction pumps and the first to offer drives with a SelfSensing bypass option.
The new Fluke Connect®-enabled 370 FC Series Clamp Meters log measurements to pinpoint intermittent faults precisely without the need for the technician to be present. Those measurements are then wirelessly transmitted to the Fluke Connect app on smartphones or tablets and automatically uploaded to the cloud, keeping technicians outside the arc flash zone and away from dangerous moving machinery.
DriSteem has introduced its new Low-maintenance Humidification System. This all-in-one, near-zero maintenance steam humidification system integrates two DriSteem products — the Vapormist® electric humidifier and the 200 Series reverse-osmosis system — on a single skid mount with a single power supply and user interface controller.
The Omega HHAQ-107 meter is ideal for making general measurements of mixed gas volatile organic compound (VOC) levels as part of an IAQ maintenance program. Since people spend most of their time inside homes, schools, and commercial buildings, measuring the health and comfort in the air is important.
Rinnai introduced the Demand Duo™, a commercial hybrid water heating system. The system combines highly-efficient heat exchanger technologies from Rinnai’s recently-launched 199-Btu, Energy Star-certified C199 condensing commercial tankless water heaters with a 119-gallon tank designed to handle the demands of businesses.
From a missing pipe hanger three floors down to steam traps past their prime, these stories show how steam system problems can originate inside the boiler room or far beyond it. Read more in February issue.
