Greenheck now offers 2-in R13 foam insulation as a standard offering on its Model RV and RVE pre-engineered packaged rooftop outdoor air systems. Company officials said the newly designed units expand overall performance by 25% versus the previous generation.
EVAPCO has developed the eco-LSWE closed circuit coolers with an ellipti-fin coil and CrossCool™ internally enhanced tubes to increase the heat transfer of the coil, in turn improving the unit’s cooling capacity. The units range in capacity from 340 to 16,987 MBH.
SPX Cooling Technologies announced the availability of the Marley® brand Cube BTC forced draft evaporative condenser and Cube DTC induced draft evaporative condenser for industrial cooling applications. Both Cube models are geared toward cooling applications in chemical processing, industrial gases production, and pharmaceutical production.
Fujitsu launched a new Wi-Fi solution for its Airstage line. This Wi-Fi tool allows installers to operate a Fujitsu Airstage VRF system from anywhere with a smartphone, laptop, or tablet. Fujitsu’s Airstage VRF systems are controlled from a webpage or by using an iOS or Android App. A cloud server manages the entire process. Many HVAC functions can be remotely operated. These include: on/off, mode (heating, cooling, dry, auto, air circulation), change or set temperature, and set schedules and timers.
WaterFurnace International introduced the Versatec Variable Speed Series in 3- to 6-ton capacities. This commercial variable capacity water source and geothermal heat pump line is available in both horizontal and vertical configurations.
The EME3625DFL wind-driven rain-resistant stationary louver from Ruskin® is a 3-in louver with Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) 540 impact resistance. Constructed of extruded aluminum for low maintenance and high resistance to corrosion, the louver is also AMCA 550-listed and is pending 2014 Florida Building Code approval.
Armstrong Fluid Technology has enhanced its Fireset™ Horizontal Split Case (HSC) pump line with two new models. Featuring a tilted parting design to maximize efficiency by minimizing turbulence at the impeller eye, the new 5x4x17F and 6x5x12F pumps are ideal for installations that require between 500 and 1,000 USgpm. Compatible with both electric motor (50 Hz and 60 Hz) and diesel engine drivers, the new Fireset™ HSC pumps offer a variety of features including double suction design for operating efficiency and high-flow performance.
Navien has introduced the new Ready-Link® Manifold System for NPE Tankless Water Heaters. The company says the accessory makes manifold mounting, onto the Ready-Link® Rack or directly to a wall, simple for new multi-unit installations or emergency same day replacements.
Johnson Controls says its new SMART Equipment Controllers (SEC) use a smart mobile device interface that gives engineers the flexibility to easily access their Johnson Controls water-to-air water source heat pump controls through any Wi-Fi-enabled device and any internet browser. The controllers feature an onboard backlit local display with pushbuttons and BACnet Automatic Discovery support that enables integration into any BACnet BAS.
A new line of dedicated outside air systems (DOAS) from the YORK® brand of Johnson Controls includes a range of 100% outside air units and mixed air units. With heat pump operation and water source operation, as well as a hot water heat option, the new line of air systems delivers more combinations of heating and cooling. The systems also feature an internal energy recovery wheel that pre-conditions outside air and reduces heating and cooling loads by transferring energy between the exhaust airstreams.
The high-profile equipment involves an efficient, resilient trigeneration plant to provide heating, cooling, and power service. However, UConn’s most critical asset may be its forward-thinking, campus-wide energy strategy. Read more stories in June Issue 2017.
