The new line of solid-state starters for the company’s CenTraVac chillers are designed to be more cost-effective, highly efficient, and, unlike other solid-state starters, it does not required water-cooling. The starters are offered unit mounted, remote floor mounted, or remote wall mounted. The company says its new design offers several advantages over the traditional solid-state starter design, including SCRs may reduce system efficiency if left on while running, arcless switching reduces contactor wear and promotes longer life, lower power losses, digital control and reliability, and smaller wiring sizing which can reduce installation costs, to name a few.
