Machinery motion control manufacturer, Dunkermotor, has released its 2012 catalog of low voltage Brushless DC and Intelligent Servo Motors. The expanded catalog includes detailed specifications on custom configurable BLDC motors, controls, gearheads, brakes, encoders and accessories and is now available for complimentary download at the Dunkermotor website or by email request for hard copies.
The Dunkermotor product line is based on five frame sizes of high power density low voltage BLDC motors, ranging from 32 to 75 mm (1.26 to 2.95 inches) with continuous output power ratings up to 530 W (0.7 hp). They are available as motors only or can be configured in infinite varieties with separate or integral controls, incremental or absolute encoders, matched parallel shaft and right angle gearing, as well as power-off or power-on brakes.
New features in the 114-page catalog include:
"This new catalog had to have one-third more pages in order to fully cover the variety of custom configurations which are possible with our fully integrated product line, " said John Morehead, Dunkermotor vice president, business development. "OEMs are increasingly looking for sole source responsibility solutions and Dunkermotor strives to achieve that in the fractional horsepower motion control market."
"It's surprising how many OEMs today have to work with their motor suppliers like an audiophile did 25 years ago," said Morehead. "They're still trying to put together motors, encoders, controls, amplifiers, gears and brakes, often from different sources, just like when you had to try to coordinate tuners, preamps, amplifiers, tape decks, speakers and who knows what else, along with the requisite rats nest of wires and cables. Today, thanks to digital technology and products like the iPod, the component audio market exists only for those with the most fanatical tastes and a lot of disposable income. Similarly, an all-in-one integrated intelligence servo motor can rotate a shaft exactly the way the OEM wants, much more easily, in a smaller space and with a significantly better value proposition than the old way of specifying and achieving motion control."
The new Dunkermotor Brushless DC Motor Catalog can be downloaded from the company's website at http://www.dunkermotor.com/2012_BLDC_catalog or by emailing a request for a hard copy with name, company and address to info@dunkermotor.com.
