Matrix converter

May 15, 2009

The AC7 Matrix Converter is designed to lead a new age of drive performance. The AC7 incorporates innovative technology as the world's first low-voltage (230V/460V) matrix converter to directly convert input AC voltage to output AC voltage without the need for a DC Bus, according to the manufacturer.

Not only does the AC7 improve energy efficiency, but it also overcomes many problems typically associated with conventional drives, such as harmonic current distortion, line regeneration, installation space, and motor drive issues (very long cable lengths, bearing currents, and common mode currents).
