Victaulic has recently expanded its line of large diameter pipe coupling and fittings for systems up to 60 in. in dia.  

From 14 inch through 60 inch, Victaulic AGS couplings are the only large-diameter couplings on the market to feature two-piece housing segments. These couplings offer contractors unprecedented speed of assembly over couplings featuring multi-segment housings. When compared to welding, large-diameter pipe may require several hours to complete, however a Victaulic AGS coupling can be assembled easily in less than an hour and without the added risk of fire hazards.

For engineers, Victaulic AGS couplings feature a patented wedge-shaped groove that can handle higher end loads and a higher pressure rating of up to 350 psi/2,400 kPa, depending on the pipe size and wall thickness.

“Victaulic AGS couplings are ideal for many applications, particularly HVAC systems including water transport for district heating and cooling,” said Wayne Biery, director of product development — large diameter systems for Victaulic. “The couplings have been used successfully in ultra high-rise applications such as Chicago’s Trump Tower where high pressures and large piping are a common element in the HVAC systems.

AGS couplings provide a union at every joint for easy access to the piping system for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and system retrofits. With AGS couplings, no flame is required to assemble the joint and the coupling provides visual confirmation of proper installation — assembly is complete when housings meet metal-to-metal and torque requirements have been met.

Style W07 and W77 AGS couplings are ideal for use in large-diameter HVAC applications and are available in sizes ranging from 14-60 in,/350-1,525 mm. These couplings are equipped with plated bolts and nuts and a Victaulic FlushSeal® gasket in Grade “E” EPDM, Grade “T” nitrile or Grade “L” silicone.
