General Tools has introduced the new Mini-Anemometer/Psychrometer. The DAF3009 can measure all parameters associated with installing, testing, and fine-tuning the performance of an HVACR system. This includes airflow volume, airspeed, enthalpy, ambient temperature, dew point temperature, wet bulb temperature, wind chill index, and relative humidity.
Klein Tools has advanced its voice/data/video (VDV) product line by offering the new Scout® Pro 2 Series of cable testers. The Scout Pro 2 is a multi-functional tester that tests voice, data, and video connections.
CAS DataLoggers and T&D have product launched the new TR-71wf/72wf Series Wireless Temperature and Humidity Data Loggers. These two-channel environmental monitors have an auto-communication function which automatically uploads all recorded data from the loggers over wireless LAN to T&D’s free cloud service. Now users can view data anytime, anywhere on a mobile device or PC.
Leaning on experience and data from various K-12 cities and projects, the author pursues some less conventional design approaches. They may revolve around radiant heating and/or cooling, but depending on school size and other factors, the smart use of heat recovery, DOAS, and improved central plants could also put a project on the HVAC honor roll.
