Greenheck has expanded its Air Measuring Damper (AMD) line with the addition of the AMD-TD series of thermal dispersion-based airflow measuring dampers. The AMD-TD series combines the functionality of a highly-accurate thermal dispersion airflow station and a low-leakage control damper to control airflow volumes to a target set point.
E+E Elektroniks has expanded its product range with various sensors for passive temperature measurement for HVAC and building technology. The compact enclosure with protection class IP65/NEMA 4 facilitates allows for easy and fast installation of the sensors, according to the company. Due to external mounting holes the sensors can be installed with closed housing, which protects the device from building site contamination. The new temperature sensors line matches the design of the E+E humidity, CO2, and air velocity sensors.
The SVG3 Digital Micron Vacuum Gauge includes a large dual display with rate indicator, alarms, timers, a rubberized case, and rugged strap and hook that hangs at an angle to make reading the display easy. The dual display indicates live vacuum measurement in microns of mercury on the top line, and the rate of micron change, or the alarm stopwatch on the bottom line.
Leaning on experience and data from various K-12 cities and projects, the author pursues some less conventional design approaches. They may revolve around radiant heating and/or cooling, but depending on school size and other factors, the smart use of heat recovery, DOAS, and improved central plants could also put a project on the HVAC honor roll.
