Governair Corporation, a CES Group Company, has announced the availability of Fanwall Technology in its TopLine™ DX packaged HVAC systems. This technology enables designers to reach low sound levels never thought possible. Now, it’s possible to achieve a 20 dB+ reduction in lower octave bands, in air-cooled or evaporative-cooled condenser applications 5 to 500+ tons, according to the company.

A condenser utilizing a Fanwall(r) system helps designers meet sound-sensitive applications’ needs without the expense of sound attenuation devices. With higher static capabilities, a condenser with a Fanwall system can be applied with filtration to extend coil life and eliminate cleaning, to serve even the most demanding industrial installations. Further capabilities include indoor duct-in, duct-out applications and rooftop Miami Dade 300 mph hurricane certification. Certain architectural projects would benefit from its clean roofline; due to how compact the Fanwall system is, the unit footprint can be reduced by as much as 30 percent, assisting with challenging retrofit applications.

The fan array enables designers to optimize more closely the fan-wheel geometry and motor horsepower for a specific application. The result is smaller fans and motors, running closer to peak efficiencies, thus reducing energy costs. In addition, the redundancy of the fan components adds to the unit’s reliability. If one motor fails, only that portion of the airflow is lost, unlike single fan designs.
