The Air Movement and Control Association International, Inc. (AMCA) announced it recently received an ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, which was granted to the association's laboratory after a rigorous evaluation process by The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation, for technical competence in the field of mechanical testing.

This accreditation will allow the AMCA laboratory to perform the following tests on fans and air handling units under the A2LA accredited scope:
Test
Fans: Airflow, Pressure, Power, and Efficiency for Multiple Nozzle Inlet
Chamber and Multiple Nozzle Outlet Chamber
Test Method
ANSI/AMCA 210/ASHRAE 51-1999

Test
Central Station Air Handling Units: Airflow, Pressure Power, and Efficiency for Multiple Nozzle Inlet Chamber and Multiple Nozzle Outlet Chamber
Test Method
ANSI/ARI 430-1999

The AMCA laboratory's fulfillment of the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 means the laboratory meets both the technical competence requirements and management system requirements that are necessary for it to consistently deliver technically valid test results and calibrations. The management system requirements in ISO/IEC 17025 (Section 4) are written in language relevant to laboratory operations and meet the principles of ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Systems - Requirements and are aligned with its pertinent requirements.
