Danfoss will participate in the U.S. Department of Commerce’s 2016 SelectUSA Investment Summit, June 20-21, in Washington.

Hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Summit’s theme will be “The Innovation Advantage,” showcasing the United States as a world leader in innovation and a premier destination for business. It will convene business and government leaders to share insights on the latest innovations and trends.

John Galyen, president of Danfoss North America, will join a panel discussion on Tuesday, June 21, titled “Growing Your Customer Base: the U.S. as an Export Platform.” The panel will examine why international companies exported $360 billion worth of goods from the United States in 2013, as well as the advantages of market access and free trade.

Present in more than 100 countries worldwide — including 17 facilities in the United States — Danfoss says it is continuing to invest in its U.S. manufacturing and R&D operations, as well as in workforce development, in order to better serve its customers. In December 2015, Danfoss broke ground on a new, state-of-the-art laboratory in Tallahassee, FL, that will aim to help customers accelerate innovation in the market.

Established by Executive Order of the President and housed within the U.S. Department of Commerce, SelectUSA is a government-wide effort to encourage, facilitate, and accelerate business investment in the United States by both domestic and foreign firms — a major engine of economic growth and job creation.

In 2015, the SelectUSA Investment Summit welcomed nearly 2,600 participants from 70 international markets, including companies and business associations, as well as economic development organizations from all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Guam.
