CertainTeed has launched its newly enhanced Sustainable Insulation™ SoftTouch™ Duct Wrap. The product offers improvements in cutting and handling while maintaining the company’s fiberglass product performance.  CertainTeed officials said the Sustainable Insulation SoftTouch is a resilient fiberglass blanket-type insulation that provides superior thermal efficiency by reducing unwanted heat loss or gain in both rectangular and round heating, ventilating, and air conditioning ductwork. It is available as an unfaced blanket or with an FSK, gray PSK, or white PSK vapor retarder facing, which helps to eliminate condensation on cold ductwork surfaces.

The product is now manufactured with recycled and renewable content including a plant-based binder that is formaldehyde-free and contains no harsh acrylics, dyes, or unnecessary fire-retardant chemicals. The key benefit of the product’s new formulation is that SoftTouch generates much less dust. It also helps to ensure optimal indoor air quality and meets GREENGUARD Gold standards for low chemical emissions.
