Honeywell has launched a universal replacement Low/Medium Torque Actuator for fire and smoke dampers. The updated, UL555 and UL555S compliant actuator is designed to simplify the replacement process by offering new time-saving installation features in addition to reducing the number of models distributors need to stock. While the primary technical specifications (torque, timing, form factor) remain unchanged from previous Honeywell actuators, the company says that new features have been added to enable reversible mounting orientation as well as the option to order with or without internal auxiliary switches. Some of the new features and benefits of the actuator include reversible design, optional internal end switches, clip-in conduit connections, and a simplified shaft adapter.
