Sustainable Solutions Corp. will present two webinars detailing the newest version of LEED. The company says the series will provide attendees with the understanding they will need to prepare and capitalize on LEED v4.

The first webinar, “Fundamentals of LEED v4,” will be broadcast Oct 10, at 2 p.m. EST. Jeremy Kuhre, sustainable buildings and operations manager for Sustainable Solutions Corp., will present.

LEED v4 has been approved and will go live this November at Greenbuild in Philadelphia. This webinar will aim to help attendees gain a clear understanding of how LEED is changing and the direction in which it is going. This webinar will focus on the BD+C rating system changes and will cover the differences between LEED v3 and LEED v4. It will also cover a LEED v4 timeline, the integrative process, sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, and indoor environmental quality.

Part two of the series, “Materials and Resource Credits — Uncharted Waters,” will be held Oct. 17, at 2 p.m. EST. Jim Mellentine, LCA manager at Sustainable Solutions Corp.; and Annie Bevan, certification analyst for GreenCircle Certified LLC, will present.

According to Sustainable Solutions Corp., the most substantially revised section of the new LEED rating system compared to previous iterations is the Materials and Resources (MR) section. This webinar will help to answer vital questions. For manufacturers, it will help to determine how products can contribute to earning MR credits on LEED projects. It will also seek to help LEED or industry professionals learn how to navigate the new language and select materials to earn MR credits. This webinar will look to answer questions pertaining to whole building impact reduction, product disclosure and optimization, material ingredient disclosure, and construction and demolition waste management.
