Bry-Air has announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted the company a patent for its BrySmart EMS. The EMS is available on the company’s EcoDry™ desiccant dehumidifier.

This newly patented "BrySmart"™ microprocessor-based system uses dynamic control of dehumidifier operating parameters to dramatically improve part-load energy efficiency. Proprietary control algorithms dynamically and simultaneously control reactivation airflow, energy and rotor speed. Only the amount of energy needed in the drying process at any particular time is used, reducing energy usage and operating costs significantly. Savings of up to 45% are common in most applications. In addition, BrySmart™ can be retrofitted to existing installations providing the benefits of improved operations and lower energy costs.

“This technology sets a new benchmark for energy efficient desiccant dehumidifiers by optimizing system performance during part load conditions.  The system comes standard in our competitively priced EcoDry product line,” said Doug Howery, vice president sales and marketing, Bry-Air. He added that the demand for the product has steadily increased as more and more industrial customers have committed to significantly reducing their energy usage and cost.
