System Sensor has announced the launch of its new SpectrAlert® Advance Dual Strobe and Dual Strobe with Speaker Expander Plates for emergency communications system (ECS) and mass notification system (MNS) applications. These new plates enable installers to combine the functions of two to three devices on a single mounting plate and back box, lowering the overall cost of the installation and improving aesthetics by requiring fewer devices on the wall.

“These plates include all the same features and benefits as our SpectrAlert Advance products, including a plug-in design,” says Josie Slaughter, System Sensor product manager. “The plates are easy for one person to install. First, mount the plate to a junction box and connect the field wiring to the terminals. Then, to complete the installation, hinge and attach the strobe or speaker strobe device with a captured mounting screw. That’s it.”

The expander plates include a UL 1638-listed (Visual Signaling Appliances) amber lens strobe for Private Mode General Utility Signaling that meets DOD specification requirements. They can be used in 12- or 24-volt systems and can be paired with a fire-rated SpectrAlert Advance strobe or speaker strobe.

Along with the expander plates, System Sensor is also releasing three new outdoor speaker strobes to enable its customers to meet an even wider range of ECS and MNS requirements. These include white wall- and ceiling-mount clear lens ALERT-printed devices as well as a white ceiling-mount high candela clear lens speaker strobe with no printing (plain).
