Titus HVAC has released EcoShield — the industry’s first natural fiber insulation. The sustainable liner is comprised of high quality, natural cotton composed of recycled denim. It is the only liner that provides superb sound absorption, consistent thermal performance, is indoor air quality friendly and at no extra cost.

EcoShield is an ideal alternative to fiberglass as it is thermally and acoustically comparable and easier to handle. The EcoShield liner offers an Environmental Protection Agency registered microbial mold and fungal inhibitor so it will not support bacteria. It contains no harmful irritants or chemicals and is safe for people and the environment. The liner complies with the American Society for Testing and Materials and the National Fire Protection Agency standards.

“Typically, if you want an environmentally-friendly liner that eliminates fiberglass from the airstream, it would require a sacrifice of cost, acoustics or thermal performance,” said Trenton Yarbrough, director of engineering at Titus HVAC. “Here at Titus, we don’t believe that building owners should have to make sacrifices to achieve comfortable work environments. We’re proud to provide a liner that doesn’t require these sacrifices.”

EcoShield liners come in a variety of stock and custom sizes. It also offers high air erosion tolerance and meets the same ASTM C1071 standards as fiberglass. EcoShield is resistant to dirt, debris, damage and moisture and does not itch or cause skin irritation.

EcoShield is another example of Titus’ long standing history of advancing the science of air distribution and offering building owners, architects, engineers and contractors new innovations to aid in IAQ and comfort.
