Johnson Controls has replaced its York® Affinity™ AVG air handler with the Affinity AHV variable-speed single piece model, expanding the product range to include seven airflow models ranging from 1.5 to 5 tons. This broader range gives contractors more options to more precisely match airflow and evaporator coil sizes.

The new air handler incorporates simplified control boards and electric heater kits to provide the features and performance homeowners require while offering easier to install, service and troubleshoot features that contractors want. The result is improved reliability, fewer field issues and better comfort.

The AHV also uses larger evaporator coils to provide expanded system ratings and performance in most applications than were previously available. Like other air handlers in the Affinity Series, the AHV:

• Uses an advanced variable-speed electronically commutated motor (ECM).

• Uses a bolt-on thermostatic expansion valve (TXV).

• Is compatible with the York Affinity Residential Communicating Control.

• Includes ClimaTrak™ technology, allowing customization of the air handler’s settings to match the comfort requirements specific to different climate regions.
