Air filters

3M Purification Inc. has expanded its portfolio of Filtrete Commercial HVAC filters.

The two new filters – Filtrete™ Commercial HVAC Filter MERV A13 and Filtrete™ Commercial HVAC Filter MERV A11 from 3M – are designed with an innovative open filtration media structure, precision pleat structure and high surface area mini-pleat design, resulting in low pressure drop, thereby helping decrease energy use.

The new MERV A13 rated filter meets the minimum requirement for an Indoor Environmental Quality point toward LEED certification for new and existing buildings. Using 3M technology, this filter offers a unique combination of high in-use efficiency, low pressure drop and a long filter life – all in a compact filter package.

Filtrete Commercial HVAC Filter MERV A13 helps provide a cleaner indoor air quality environment by helping to remove particles in the important EPA-monitored PM2.5 size range. This provides effective removal of dust, lint, pollens, spores and many other common particulate contaminants in the environment.

Rounding out the portfolio is the new Filtrete Commercial HVAC Filter MERV A11. It features a robust design for a wide range of building HVAC environments due to its durable, moisture- and humidity-resistant, 100% synthetic filtration media, 100% metal-free filter design and engineered frame construction.

3M Purification Inc. designed these new filters with distinct colors, making them easy to distinguish. Look for the MERV A13 filter in red and the MERV A11 filter in orange. These products will be available in November 2010, at an HVAC distributor near you.
