Adding to its portfolio of sustainable solutions, Carrier Corp. offers building owners another opportunity to reduce energy consumption by generating hot water through a chiller system. With the new AquaForce® 30XW water-cooled screw chiller designed specifically for cooling and heat recovery applications, hot water can be produced at a controlled temperature for use in various heating applications to maximize heat recovery and increase the overall system efficiency, resulting in paybacks as low as one to two years or three to four months with an auxiliary chiller. Carrier Corp., a world leader in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

The AquaForce® 30XW chiller with non-ozone depleting HFC-134a® refrigerant exceeds ASHRAE 90.1 efficiency standards and is up to 20 percent more efficient than its predecessors. “The AquaForce® 30XW provides a cost effective, reliable solution for today’s cooling and heat recovery applications. At just 48 inches wide, this chiller creates an opportunity to save a large amount of energy while occupying a surprisingly small space, which is extremely beneficial in new and retrofit applications, ” stated Tom Franaszek, chiller product business unit manager, Carrier Building Systems and Services.

AquaForce packaged water-cooled chillers are available in 150 to 400 ton models optimized for either cooling or heat recovery applications, each with a broad range of options to meet the unique needs of diverse job sites, including compliance with International Building Code and ASCE 7 seismic qualification requirements in concurrence with ICC ES AC156 Acceptance Criteria.
