Danfoss wins AHR Expo Product Of The Year award

The third annual AHR EXPO® Product of the Year Award has been awarded to Danfoss, Inc. for its Apexx VSH Series variable speed scroll compressors for commercial air conditioning.  From among the nine products that won Innovation Awards in their respective categories, the judges selected the one that overall best met the competition criteria: Innovation, Application, Value and Market Impact.  The award was presented during the AHR EXPO (www.ahrexpo.com), January 27th, at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

The industry-wide AHR EXPO Innovation Awards competition is designed to promote and encourage product development and innovation.  Over 100 products were entered in nine award categories, with Danfoss’ Apexx VSH Series winning the AHR EXPO Innovation Award in the Cooling category as well as the AHR EXPO Product of the Year award.

“To have the VSH solution named Product of the Year is indeed an honor," said John Galyen, president of Danfoss North America Refrigeration & Air Conditioning. "It is not the capstone, but actually a milestone in the VSH story, as development continues for engineering innovations leading to even greater energy efficient solutions for our customers.”

The $8,100 in entry fees from the 7th annual AHR EXPO Innovation Awards competition was donated to HomeAid Chicago.  The donation will go to assist in providing a complete climate control system reworking for a domestic violence shelter in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago.  Since its inception, the AHR EXPO Innovation Awards program has donated more than $50,000 to various organizations throughout the country.

“The Product of the Year award and Innovation Awards encourage the advancement of technology in the HVAC/R industry,” said Clay Stevens, President of International Exposition Company, which produces and manages the AHR EXPO.  “The awards have a positive impact on the entire industry by recognizing companies that have been especially successful at developing new and innovative products.”
