Many topics covered, and a new video debut.

The Air Movement and Control Association International, Inc. (AMCA) convened for their Midyear Meeting at the newly renovated AMCA Headquarters in Arlington Heights, IL. The meetings were hosted by current AMCA president, Gary Benson, of Mechanovent Corporation, and Jo Reinhardt, president of Industrial Louvers, Inc., chairman of the board.  The meeting was attended by the board of directors, AMCA staff, guests, AMCA members, and trade journal press.  Members arrived from various points around the U.S., and some of the AMCA International members arrived from Canada, Germany, China, and the Netherlands.

The committee, division, council and regional members met for one and a half days, taking care of general housekeeping, as well as their regularly scheduled meetings and agenda.  Through these types of in-person meetings, members and staff were able to indentify and support “Green Initiatives and Sustainable Technologies,” review AMCA International’s financials, report on  the “Facility Needs” project, and maximize the “Return on Investment” to the association’s 250-plus members.

The AMCA Midyear meeting hosted the debut of the new “Corporate Informational Video/DVD.”  This Video/DVD gives an overview of what AMCA International is, and who the people and companies are that comprise the association. This video/DVD contains essential information for engineers, contractors, architects, specifiers, universities, or manufacturer's who are affiliated with the HVACR industries. The Video/DVD is available through YouTube™ on the home page of the AMCA website www.amca.org.

During her executive director’s report, Barbara Morrison, AMCA executive director, summarized:  “AMCA’s worldwide outreach continues to grow at record rates with positive impact; a direct reflection of the hard work by AMCA members and staff, striving to fulfill the goals and directives of the association’s strategic plan.”  Morrison continued, “The growth of the association, its programs, and the recognition of them in the global community is an indicator of future success for AMCA International.”
