Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. hired Mike Mooney, P.E. as senior mechanical engineer in the firm’s Denver office.

Mooney is responsible for the design of HVAC systems of all descriptions. He also is responsible for plumbing, medical gas and fire protection design functions from schematic design through construction. Previously, Mooney worked as mechanical engineer for Gordon Gumeson and Associates before its merger with SSR in February 2006. He has also worked as mechanical engineer for DMJMH+N in Albuquerque, NM, and as mechanical department head for DLR Group in Omaha, NE.

Mooney is a recipient of the American Consulting Engineers Council’s “Future Leaders” award and has completed the DPIC “Liability IQ for Architects and Engineers” training. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
