Michael Karst, a senior project management executive with nearly 35 years of experience in engineering and construction, has joined the firm as chief of construction and commissioning.

Vanderweil Engineers announced that Michael Karst, a senior project management executive with nearly 35 years of experience in engineering and construction, has joined the firm as chief of construction and commissioning.

Karst comes to Vanderweil with a lengthy track record overseeing major construction and program management initiatives throughout the U.S. and overseas. He most recently served as a program manager in the federal programs division of Dewberry, where he supported a nationwide contract with the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide temporary housing to victims of Presidentially declared disasters.  He was previously a senior project manager with URS Corporation, where he was involved in the firm’s contracts with the U.S. Department of State to provide embassy design, design standards, maintenance planning, value engineering, and commissioning services internationally.  Karst also supported the firm’s work on indefinite delivery contracts for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
