Flack + Kurtz has acquired SEi Companies, a mechanical and electrical consulting engineering firm with 150 employees. The announcement was made by Randy J. Meyers, president and CEO of Flack + Kurtz. SEi is known for its engineering expertise in MEP, fire protection, sustainable design, and communication technologies engineering.

SEi Companies, based in Boston, has also established offices in Washington, DC and Houston. The firm is currently working on numerous major projects including Fenway Park in Boston; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; and Yale University in New Haven. In addition, SEi provides building commissioning services on a diverse array of projects including the Giaimo Federal Building, New Haven; and the Harvard Medical School, Dental Research Center, Boston.

SEi is also known for its expertise in specialty engineering services including security, and can provide turnkey services on central energy plant projects. Like Flack + Kurtz, SEi is committed to staying in the forefront of the industry through leadership in sustainable design and building information modeling (BIM).

SEi’s staff of 150, combined with Flack + Kurtz’s offices in New York, San Francisco, Seattle and Las Vegas will expand and enhance the company’s ability to provide the highest quality engineering and service to clients throughout the U.S. and globally. The combined staff of over 600 will provide the broadest range of expertise, service, and capacity to ensure the success of clients’ projects.

As a part of the London-based WSP Group, Flack + Kurtz and SEi Companies collaborate with a network of over 8,000 staff located throughout the world to provide a global resource to clients through a common set of vision and values. WSP also owns structural engineer WSP Cantor Seinuk and operates WSP Environmental Strategies in the United States.
