Mestek, Inc. of Westfield, MA and Dadanco Pty of Adelaide, Australia have announced a joint venture to produce and market active chilled beams, induction units and induction diffusers for the North, Central and South American markets.

Dadanco is a leading supplier of active chilled beams in Australia and has sold active chilled beam systems in many countries throughout the world including the UK, Sweden, Malaysia, India, etc.  The products being offered by the joint venture are based on Dadanco’s patented nozzle technology and established product designs.

Mestek is a diversified manufacturer of HVAC and Metal Forming products with sales of approximately $400 million. Mestek’s companies include Smith Cast Iron Boilers, Hydrotherm, RBI Water Heaters and Boilers, Anemostat, Airtherm, Sterling, Vulcan Radiator, Air Balance, Arrow United, L. J. Wing, Lockformer and many others.

The active chilled beams and other Dadanco products are being produced in Mestek’s Wyalusing, PA, manufacturing facility by workers represented by the Sheet Metal Workers Union and the products bear the union label. Product design and application engineering support is at Mestek’s Westfield, MA headquarters.

Dadanco’s president, Vladimir Petrovic, and vice president of engineering, Dan Harris, are relocating from Australia to the US to join the joint venture working with Bill Rafferty, Mestek’s executive vice president.  A number of sales representatives have been appointed with more over the coming months.
