California's Energy Commission Appliance Efficiency Regulations involve residential exhaust fans, whole house fans, and various other residential appliances. Currently, there are no specific efficiency standards for residential fans, however, certification by the California Energy Commission of these products is required before they can legally be sold or offered for sale in California.
AMCA International Laboratory approved as a testing laboratory for the California Appliance Efficiency Program
The Air Movement and Control Association International, Inc. (AMCA) Laboratory, has recently been accredited by the California Energy Commission as an approved testing facility for the California Appliance Efficiency Program. Specifically, AMCA has been approved to test residential exhaust fans and whole house fans using test method HVI 916.
