The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors has announced that it is seeking applicants for two $5,000 scholarships which will be awarded to deserving engineering students.

The names of the scholarship recipients will be announced at the National Board/ASME International General Meeting Awards Banquet to be held in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, May 16, 2001.

Applicants must be either college juniors ro seniors during the 2000-2001 school term and pursuing a degree in the field of mechanical, metallurgical, nuclear, or welding engineering.

To qualify, a student must be nominated by a faculty member through a written letter or recommendation submitted to the National Board Communications Department, 1055 Crupper Avenue, Columbus, OH 43229. The letter must be postmarked no later than January 31, 2001, and accompanied by the student’s resume, college transcripts, and a statement detailing: course of study, accomplishments, professional affiliations and goals, and financial need. There is no application form to complete.
