ABB Inc. and theGlobal Engineering Education Exchange(Global E³) program of the Institute of International Education announced the award of four scholarships to American women in engineering to study abroad during the fall semester 2003.

The recipients are Rachel Freeman (Snohomish, WA) of the University of Washington to study Chemical Engineering at Friedrich Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany; Emily Hammes (Leawood, KS) of Illinois Institute of Technology to study Biomedical Engineering at Tampere University of Technology, Finland; Natalie Meagher (Savage, MN) of the University of Wisconsin (Madison) to study Engineering Mechanics at the University of Stuttgart, Germany and Gabriela Morato (Bethesda, MD) of the University of Maryland (College Park) to study Civil and Environmental Engineering at INSA Lyon, France.
