Aerias.org’s newly launched site, www.Aerias.org provides in-depth information about indoor air quality and its impact on human health. Aerias.org provides easy navigation throughout the site, and features the latest news streamed daily from Reuters Health eLine. Visitors enjoy virtual tours of an office building, a school, a home, and other locations to learn about specific indoor air quality issues within that space. They may click on the picture of a particular room within a commercial office building, such as the conference room, or a classroom in a school, and obtain information on potential pollutants present, their sources, and control measures.
Leaning on experience and data from various K-12 cities and projects, the author pursues some less conventional design approaches. They may revolve around radiant heating and/or cooling, but depending on school size and other factors, the smart use of heat recovery, DOAS, and improved central plants could also put a project on the HVAC honor roll.
