DFM Concurrent Costing 1.1 software can be used to investigate alternative materials and processes including selecting the most cost-effective design, and also provides an estimate on the cost of manufacturing the part. Highly interoperable, users can open and view solid models of parts created in all the major CAD/CAM systems, such as Pro/ENGINEER, Catia, Unigraphics, I-DEAS, AutoCad, SolidWorks, and many more. The program also doubles the information formerly available on material and manufacturing processes by adding five new techniques: structural foam molding, plastic extrusion, injection molding, thermoforming, and low molding as well as the original processes.
