The Steriflo™ System uses the four principles of extraction, dilution, suppression, and isolation to provide a combination of low-velocity laminar air and air curtains to flush contaminants out and prevent them from re-entering the surgical zone, according to the manufacturer. The system has been tested during actual surgical procedures and results in Class I Microbiological Air Cleanliness in reference to the suggested test procedures published by the Committee on Operating Room Environment of the American College of Surgeons.
