Versar, Inc. recently announced that it has been awarded a five-year contract valued at $7.2 million from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The contract will support the EPA's Office of Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic Substances' Antimicrobials Division. Antimicrobial pesticides are chemicals that kill bacteria or viruses, and are associated with commonly used products, such as disinfectants, sanitizers, or preservatives.

This new contract expands Versar's work for the EPA in six areas: Residue and product chemistry; Toxicology; Human exposure; Environmental fate; Ecological effects; Integration of science products.
