Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson, announced today the release of its EX series electronic expansion valves and controls in the United States. Complementing the EX series are the EC series network-enabled electronic superheat controllers and drivers. This complete electronic package offers improved energy efficiency and tighter temperature regulation combined with innovative features, such as remote monitoring and diagnostics.

The EX series valves can operate at partial load with the same precision as under full load, fully exploiting the potential for energy savings due to lower condensing pressure levels. The valves also offer a positive shut off function that utilizes a battery back-up built into the controller to close the valve after power loss, eliminating the need for an additional solenoid valve.

Additional key features of the EX series valves include:

- All stainless steel construction for long life with no corrosion.
- Ceramic slide for low friction, minimum operating force and tight shut off.
- Unique gate valve design providing a linear refrigerant flow characteristic.
- Maximum Operating Pressure (MOP) function to protect compressors from overload.
