May 1, 2008

The list includes companies evaluated based on how effectively they manage environmental, social and governance risks and opportunities as compared with other companies in their industry.

Daikin Industries, Ltd., the parent company of Daikin AC (Americas) Inc., has been chosen as a member of the prestigious Global 100 list of Most Sustainable Corporations for the second consecutive year. The honor was announced at the World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland.

The list includes companies evaluated based on how effectively they manage environmental, social and governance risks and opportunities as compared with other companies in their industry. ”The Daikin Group will continue to fulfill its responsibility to all stakeholders in the economic, environmental, and social realms, and achieve further growth for the corporate group while at the same time contributing to the sustainable growth of society,” according to Noriyuki Inoue, Chairman and CEO of Daikin Industries, Ltd.

The Davos World Economic Forum is organized by the World Economic Forum, a nonprofit organization whose headquarters is located in Switzerland. The event has become famous because top business leaders, national political leaders, selected intellectuals, journalists and entertainment celebrities gather together to discuss the world economy. In 2008, the forum included about 2,500 participants from 88 countries. For more details visit www.global100.org/.
