Here's a Hint: Lint

October 15, 2007

The problem here is the exhaust fan is a laundry exhaust and the maintenance staff needs to clean the outlet grille. Otherwise the fan discharge is going to be blocked losing exhaust air capacity.

If it rains before the maintenance staff gets to this problem, the lint will swell up from the water and increase the air blockage.

Title: What's wrong with this picture (Cook Exhaust Fan)

I see three possibilities:
1. Why is the outlet of the fan plugged? Has it ever been bumped for rotation.
2. It appears that the fan is exhausting into an interior space where there might be intakes.
3. The electrical service switch location with respect to accessing the motor.
