(Ed. note - Passing this item along from a recent NAFA newsletter.)

CAFS Update Training In January of 2007, NAFA introduced the 4th Edition of the NAFA Guide to Air Filtration. This revised edition contained 25% more new information than previous editions with two entirely new chapters on Industrial Air Filtration and UVGI & PCO.

The NAFA Board of Directors issued a requirement that all CAFS receiving their CAFS prior to January of 2007 (those taking the exam using the 3rd Edition or previous Editions of the NGAF) would have to attend a conference update session within a 3-year period in order to keep their CAFS accreditation. This requirement has been reiterated in several publications and announcements since that time.

If you received your CAFS before the 4th Edition, you must attend this update session in order to keep your accreditation. Time is running out. You have two more NAFA events where you can attend this update and keep your accreditation - Toronto, Canada, September 16-18, 2009 (passport required for this travel), and Louisville, KY, tentatively scheduled for April 21-23, 2010. After Louisville, anyone not attending the update session will lose their accreditation. By Board vote, there will not be any exceptions to this requirement. (If you are unsure if you have fulfilled/need to fulfill this requirement, contact Terry Driscoll, 757.313.7400 or nafa@nafahq.org)

Please let NAFA know that you plan on attending one of the above listed conferences to get your update.
